MSC World Europe is the premiere ship of a new class of ships in the MSC Cruises fleet - World Class. The ship was built at the French shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique and was sent on her first cruise in 2022. In 2024, 2025 and 2027 it is joined by three more sister ships. MSC World Europa accommodates 6,850 passengers in 2,760 cabins - more than any existing cruise ship. The length of the vessel is 330 m, width 47 m. The ship has a futuristic Y-shaped architecture and a large external area (up to 15,000 sq.m.), opening onto an open aft terrace where passengers can enjoy the proximity of the sea. Also, MSC World Europa has a special G-shaped carrying shape, which provides support for vessel stability, fuel economy and additional comfort for passengers.
In addition to its unique architecture, MSC World Europa will set new technological and environmental standards for the cruises of the future: the ship will be the first MSC Cruises ship to run on liquefied natural gas, which will also be used to generate electricity and heat on board. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to ships powered by conventional engines. In addition, MSC World Europa will showcase a new generation wastewater treatment system that exceeds some of the world's most stringent regulatory standards, as well as other advanced environmental technologies. Other interesting features of the ship include 65% of staterooms with balconies, a glass poolside lounge, sections designed especially for families, and 39,000 sqm of public space.
